FSD Subscription Guide
This guide explains how to subscribe to Full Self-Driving (FSD) if subscriptions are not available in your region.
Overview
If FSD subscriptions are not available in your region, you can work around this by creating a Tesla account in a region where FSD subscriptions are offered (e.g., Canada) and transferring your vehicle to that account. This allows you to subscribe to FSD for 99 CAD/month (~60 EUR).
This guide is for informational purposes. You are responsible for ensuring this complies with any terms of service or regulations in your region.
Step 1: Create a Canadian Tesla Account
- Go to the Tesla website.
- In the top right corner, make sure you have the correct region selected: Canada/English.
- Click on the account icon in the top right.
- Click Create Account.
- Fill in your details and complete the account creation.
Step 2: Transfer Your Vehicle
- Open the Tesla app on your phone (logged into your original account).
- Tap the three lines in the top right to open the menu.
- Go to My Products.
- Select the car you would like to transfer.
- Tap Remove or Transfer Ownership.
- Tap Get Started.
- Select that you have sold the vehicle to an individual.
- Press Next.
- Enter the details of your newly created Canadian account.
- Complete the verification process.
After verification, your car should now appear on your new Canadian Tesla account.
Step 3: Subscribe to FSD
- Open the Tesla app and log in with your Canadian account.
- Go to Upgrades.
- Subscribe to Full Self-Driving (Supervised).
Your vehicle now has a valid FSD entitlement, and the CAN mod board can enable FSD at the CAN bus level.
Integration with Tesla Open CAN Mod
Once you have an active FSD subscription:
- Flash the Tesla Open CAN Mod firmware with the
FSD_ACTIVATIONfeature enabled - The mod will send the FSD activation frame on the CAN bus
- Your vehicle's main MCU will detect the FSD entitlement and unlock FSD features
See FSD Activation for firmware configuration details.
